Yay for Grey’s being back!!! This episode starts 5 weeks after our last one. Meredith is in therapy, but she’s not saying anything. She just comes and sits and then leaves. Helpful. Derek is dating nurse Rose – I can’t help but like her! Lexi and George found an apartment together – the Crapartment! It’s really gross – George kills like 5 cockroaches in a few minutes. Big ones. They look like the palmetto bugs that i have down here – GROSS!!! Lexi is determined to be cheery about the apartment. The residents are in a competition – not sure what they win yet, but the points are made up by what they do – 1 point per stitch, 3 for watching a surgery, 80 points for solving a medical mystery – “the holy grail” of the competition. This, of course, turns them into psychos.

Greys Anatomy
Continuing the ambulence crash. Izzie is still working on Hahn’s service. Hahn is a cold heartless bitch when Izzie asks if she can update the family, which makes Izzie realize that she doesnt want to be hard core, and maybe not cardio either. George continues to be boring. Alex snuck Ava/Rebecca up in the gallery for a surgery, where she proclaims herself as Alex’s whatever to Lexi, who is upset. Alex later gets mad at Rebeccava for popping in and out of his life. Good arguement, I’m a bit annoyed by this back and forth too – writers (when you are back from your strike with everything you asked for!) please pick one, Lexi or Avbecca. After Lexi finds out about Rebecca, she goes to tend to artery boy, played by Jamie Kennedy, sorry, Seth Green, I get them mixed up, (his major neck artery – help me out here medical students – is exposed due to surgery and they all have to make sure it doesnt blow out, which is what it is OBVIOUSLY going to do). Ever laughed so hard something you were drinking came out of your nose? Well that’s what happened to Artery Boy, except a lot of blood came pouring out of his neck all over Lexi. She tried to save him, but ultimately he died. Christina, as her resident, was really nice and finally acted like a teacher, telling her that what she did was brave and she did the right thing. Christina doesnt have much in the epi except for the very end, which ill get to. Der is doing brain surgery on the ambulence driver (she had a seizure, which is why she crashed the ambulence) and the computer guiding his “knife” and camera goes out. The flirty nurse whose name i cant remember, even though it was a major part of an episode a few weeks ago, has one of the stupidest/funniest lines of the show “I had 3 semesters of computer science at (random CA school). I think I can fix it.” HAHAHA cause a computer with software specially designed for major brain surgery suddenly going blank is the same thing as Vista crashing your computer. Right. So she rewires the thing, with the help of Der’s very steady hands (while the intern who answers to “3″ holds the scalpel/camera thingy in the woman’s brain), and ta-da! computer is fixed. Der and nurse almost make out then and there, but they save it until they are washing up. Ut oh!! dilema for Der, as Mere basically asks him to go steady (again) right after he kisses computer genius nurse. Bailey is once again slammed by her selfish husband who didnt seem to know that when he married a doctor, she would be in surgery a lot. Im so over him. Finally the end rolls around, and always, its the most pivotal scene of Greys. Feeling sorry for Lexi, Christina takes a huge risk and brings her to Mere’s house. They start to dance (i feel like they are going to pull an Entourage, and instead of saying “Hug it out Bitch,” its gonna be “Dance it out bitch!”) and Mere makes Lexi join in. Izzie peeks in and as shes about to leave, feeling once again left out by Mere and Christina (poor pitiful homewrecking Izzie), Mere tells her to join in. So we leave the crazy docs dancing in the living room. Yay.
Anyone else noticed there are NO previews for next week on ABC lately? Starting to get a little worried! Is the strike about to affect me??
PS – some Grey’s actor news. So Katherine Heigl is engaged to Josh Kelley, who apparently is a rock “star” (I have no idea who he is, only that they met on the set of his video). So guess which one of her costars is going to be a bridesmaid . . . I wonder if that is another “ratings ploy.” (Though its nice to see SOMEONE who finally realized that it was horrible of Izzie to break up a marriage!) PPS – Katherine, seriously shut the hell up, did anyone ever tell you if you cant say something nice, dont say anything at all, or that opinions are like assholes: everyone has one and most of them stink. Really, no? Huh. Then just shut the hell up please.
Thursday Night / Greysday Night
November 15, 2007And now to all the readers of SomethingCreative, what you have been waiting for, the show you were missing…
Greys Anatomy
Hold the phone – Der is on a date with Sydney???? How on earth is he that desperate??? Awesome line by Mer about Der being the hunky football player in the movies that kisses the awkward, freaky girl (Sydney) in front of everyone and answered by Cristina “Hey, you are VERY awkward and freaky.” haha aww thanks friend.
George and Izzy and Mer and Der are doing the elevator avoidance – George cause he is having bad sex with Izzie and now cant even talk to her and Mer cause she feels all bad about Der.
Bailey is now chief resident, YAY! and Callie is nice about it, though Sydney is a freak. Bailey tells them all to grow up and sticks Cristina with Hahn.
Ut oh. Bus crash. Girl wants a plastics guy for her face, screams it actually. Some guy starts calling for Mandy…who is apparently Bailey! Another dude has a pencil literally stuck up his eye. Alex makes some pithy comment about highschool, ruining the scene as the title credits rolls
This weeks theme is how life can be just like highschool sometimes. All the docs try to relate to the HS kids, but its not happening, they might be immature but theyre not that bad. But there are a lot of comparisons – cliques in the hospital, girls being backbiting, the social stepladder etc. Its a little too obvious sometimes (the chief calling his office the principle’s office), but its cute.
The guy calling Bailey Mandy went to highschool with her, she liked him then, He was popular and she did his homework and was his dormat (certainly not the Bailey of today!), and now he tries to get her to do his paperwork for him. Cool guy. And she does it??? Hahn embarrasses her and diagnoses him with heart problems (anyone think hes not going to survive this? Or hope?). “Mandy”’s crush goes into some kind of cardiac problem – as she is filling out his patient form, his later-day homework. Hahn calls Bailey out again over the guys open chest. He wakes up later, and Bailey seems to have finally grown up. Until she agrees to finish his patient paperwork. George tries to pep talk her, but she runs away. Later, she gives the speech meant for the crush to Der, angry cause “guys like him” with “their hair products” dont notice girls like her – a successful mom, a surgeon who saved his life, and her crush still doesnt see her. Shes still hurt by it. Derrick tells her how he was a highschool dork too, before hairproducts, with an afro, acne and was a fellow band geek, AWWW!!! So cute!!!
Sloane is all highschool about the cheerleader – “IM A POM!” – and how shes hot. Shes a brat and is pissed cause she wont be able to dance with the poms and her face might be messed up. His story line is weak this week, the best part is Sloan acting all “Im so hot to the younger girls, they love me” in front of the chief and Hahn…and the girls tell him he looks like one of their dads. hahaha, take that mcsteamy!
Pencil boy goes into a coma and they cant tell his best friend/girlfriend cause his family isnt there, poor kid. Der decides to anyway and the girl crys all over him, it really upsets him too. The friend is someone semi-famous, not sure who. Izzie ends up telling the girl her whole sad history because, like the girl, she has just lost her best friend too. Which is what happens when you sleep with your best friend sometimes.
Christina is kissing Hahns ass and its not working. Callie tells her to back off and then Christina gets all twitchy about missing stuff. she wits until hahn pages her, and halfway runs to answer it. she ends up doing something right and is all happy, yay boring storyline.
Mer and Lexi’s dad is in the hospital, drunk asshole. Alex tries to tell Lexi, she runs away because she thinks the dad talk is about the scene thatcher made last week, and then Thatcher sees Meredith and seems all happy to see her, which is weird cause last time he saw her he called her a murderer and slapped her. (I still hate him for that, and i cut him NO slack because of the grief of losing his wife. you DONT slap your daughter who worked her ass off trying to save her step mom!!!!) Mere patches up her dad while he appologizes (for what he said, not the slapping). hes drunk cause its susans birthday. He doesnt want Lexi there, interesting. He gets all mushy over meredith. Its sickening. He tells her she is stronger than Lexi. What a shitty dad. Lexi gets mad at Alex because her dad is all lovey over Mer and Alex didnt exactly say that Thatcher was IN the hospital. Mer later tells Lexi to look after her dad better, esp on susans birthday, and he was drunk but charming. Lexi finally snaps: Its not her moms birthday, and shes glad meredith found him charming, hes a blast after 5 drinks, but after about 9 he gets a little mean and so on. Last week she was the favorite daughter, this week shes an ungrateful bitch. the best part is when Lexi tells mere that he tends to use the line that he is a “lifetime’s worth of proud” of either of them. Wow, Thatcher REALLY sucks! Mere has what looks like a panic attack after all of this and Lexi stalking away, and the Chief tries to help her. Alex tough talks Lexi about feeling sorry for herself that her dad is a drunk. I hope this story line gets developed. I like lexi when she gets spirited and Mere needs to learn to feel sorry for someone other than herself for a change.
During the last Mere speech: George and izzy talk about how they have lost each other as friends and it sucks, and they cant get through relationship probs without their best friends. Derrick talks to a nurse, maybe a new love interest??? Sydney finds McSteam and McDream at the bar, tells him shes “a lot of woman” and that she doesnt think he can meet her needs. He barely gets through it without laughing, while I almost wet my pants. Mer and Der get cute at the bar, then go to have dirty naughty sex, but on the way out he makes eye contact with the nurse!
Mere’s final speech: “In some ways we grow up. we have families, we get married, divorced. But for the most part we still have the same problems that we did when we were 15. We are still forever stumbling, forever wondering, forever young.”
Next week: New Greys Event!!! no idea what it is! the promo is really ambigious!
