Ok, it’s official with an almost 93% vote, the WGA has voted to end the strike!!! HOOORAHHH!!!! That means the writing can start now haha but most likely tomorrow morning. Thank God! We will continue to update you here on SC on what shows will be returning and when. Ausiello got some great scoop from EP Carlton Cruse of LOST about the future this season. They are going to produce FIVE (5!!!!) new episodes in addition to the 8 they already shot. Can we get another HELL YEAH!!
AP News says this morning that many of our long lost shows will be back this spring!!
“Many hit series (such as ABC’s “Desperate Housewives” and “Grey’s Anatomy,” as well as CBS’ “CSI” trio) will be back this spring for what’s left of the current season, with anywhere from four to seven new episodes.”
The big question is for Lost:
Lost” has been back on the air just two weeks. But the strike meant a planned 16-episode shooting schedule was halted after just eight episodes were shot. Fans braced themselves for no more this season.
“But we very much want to come back and do as many episodes as possible,” said Lindelof, who then listed a few issues that first need to be settled.
“How many episodes can best serve our story? And what are the production realities?” He noted that the shooting facility in Hawaii, 2,500 miles from his Los Angeles office, had been shuttered since Thanksgiving. The crew has dispersed, the huge cast has scattered. The first new post-strike episode of “Lost” could possibly be ready for broadcast the week after episode eight appears, he said. There likely would be three or four more after that.”
Well — unless you are in the dark the WGA strike is pretty much over. *HOORAH*. We have to wait until Tuesday Night/Early Wednesday to find out for sure, but things are looking positive. In the meantime I’m sure you are all wondering what is going to happen to our favorite shows? Well Ausiello and Kristin at E! are alll over this. Click on the links to the left for thier page, or click more for what they have found out about our favorite shows here at SC.
Well I am back in LA and I am almost caught up on all of the TV I missed last week. Lets just do a short recap:
Kid Nation:
Holy crap why would they elect Greg into the council he is an asshole! But totally glad that Laurel won the gold star. Does anyone have a little crush on green guy Michael — if he were ten years older he would be great haha does he have an older brother?
Dirty Sexy Money:
meh ok episode — found myself not paying attention towards most of it, mainly because I was packing — maybe I’ll watch again. Sources say that we will find out this week who the odd-Darling out is. PS did I mention I love Jeremy Darling? Did we see how Juliet is still missing — they must have taped these episodes during her “rehab stint”.
Project Runway:
Sarah Jessica Parker yeaah! So glad Christian is still safe and I totally want to buy a vest now.
America’s Next Top Model:
The stripper is gone yaahoo. Chantal and Selicia totally sold that cover girl ad they are in it for the long run — and although I still like Heather I mean really how could she be a cover girl? I also didn’t really like her photo-shoot and I really didn’t like Biancas either what a bitch!
Ugly Betty:
Much better episode — although I hated the whole Bradford dream sequence — when did this show become so trippy? I really liked the idea of everyone pulling together to get this magazine up and running and I loved Daniels idea of the blank front page. I feel bad for Amanda…she’ll find her dad eventually.
Survivor was a recap, Gossip Girl was a repeat, Friday Night Lights wasn’t on, and no more The Office until la strike is over
Speaking of the Strike watch this video:
Lots of new stuff up about the strike. My favorite TV blogger, who has an amazing first name, posted this lovely little tidbit on her site this morning: Watch with Kristin “Praise your deity of choice, folks, because the Writers Guild and Producers Guild are coming back to the table!
Just minutes ago, WGA insiders told me negotiations with the AMPTP are resuming the Monday after Thanksgiving. Halle-freaking-lujah!
According to a notice now posted on the WGA Website, “No other details or press statements will be issued.” That’s fine, dealmakers, just bring us the final eight episodes of season four of Lost!
Do you have any ideas for what kind of compromises each side could make? What’s fair? Who’s right? Post your tips and opinions in the Comments section, and hopefully we can get this thing fixed before Christmas! (Please, Santa?)”
Lets get a big Yeeaahh for that. In other strike news, the big rally this Friday was at NBC which happens to be very close to me and my work, hence on my lunch break where I went. Heres a video & some photos
(So this guy next to me had his hand on the horn the whole 2 minutes we were stuck there at the light it was pretty much awesome and annoying.)
On my break today I drove over to the Universal lot on Lankersheim where there was supposed to be a huge rally of strikers. Apparently there were 2,000 people there which is just crazy. They were lined all the way up the street and the traffic was pretty bad. I took a video and some photos from my car (haha safe right?) Thought you guys might like to see:
I saw this video on GMMR and I thought it was great — learn what the strike is about (and be entertained by Toby, Ryan, Kelly, and Mose from The Office):
I drove past the strikers today on the way back to work after lunch. I think it’s great that the writers have a union standing up for them. I beeped my horn and gave a big thumbs up. Although I hope it doesn’t last too long — I’ll miss my shows come January.
Some other news round ups — rumor has it that if the strike does last as long as it did back in 88 (22 weeks OUCH), then CBS might bring Big Brother back in March! Yeaah for that.
I’ve also heard that apparently in the Hollywood Round for AI (which starts this week) some contestants will be able to use musical instruments — which would be great for those who do, but a hindrance perhaps on those who don’t? Who knows — we shall see.
Also, rumor has it that the season 4 of SYTYCD might be combining their tour with the finalists of AI7 — might work out? Who knows.
