Emmy Nominations…

July 17, 2008

Well I was so excited for this day….but alas I am now sad.  We got a whole big SNUB for my favorite Friday Night Lights.  The one show who really needed the Emmy Nods.  Sigh — this will most likely be the end of FNL so enjoy it this season while it last.  Otherwise YEAH for Kristin Chenoweth, Matt Dillion, and everyone in John Adams.  BIG YEAH for American Idol & Ryan Seacrest (although secretly I think Jeff Probst should TOTALLY win for Survivior — he is the BEST host in the biz…)   I am also totally surprised Pushing Daises did not make the cut, I thought it would WIN jeeeze….

Guess who I saw?

December 9, 2007

Project Runway:
So in this weeks episode the designers are asked to pick a fashion trend that is out of style and make it work in today’s fashion. But they are put into groups of three and are asked to incorporate all of the ideas into a cohesive pattern. I can’t decide what I think. I am glad that they are pushing these people into tough situations to see their creativity and stuff but these things just seem unrealistic. In the end the group that won incorporated Overalls, Poodle skirts, and 70’s flare into three really cute outfits. I was kinda surprised that Christian’s group didn’t win but meh. Christopher (the costume designer) is OUT. Next week looks kinda crazy

Dirty Sexy Money:
What an episode. The Brief synopsis goes like this. Simon Elder and Karen are still sleeping together but it turns out she is totally using him after her dad told her too —huh? But she is starting to fall for him ut oh. Juliet has a boyfriend who she wants to loose her virginity too and he has some sort of weird accent and I’m sure will hurt her in the long end. Carmalita thinks she is being followed and then ends up getting kidnapped hmm. Patrick pretty much looses his job and he decides to leave the church and work for his dad. Jeremy gets high with Nick’s wife, he kisses her, he confesses he was lying to his girl, she leaves him, and Nick’s wife gets fired from her job bc a giant sponge smells like pot HAHA. Then they watch the nutcracker.

Friday Night Lights
We open with Landry confessing that he killed the rapist guy, but not saying it was out of self defense – he is basically being a stubborn idiot saying he wanted him dead and not helping himself out at all. I do not get this. OMG Carlotta in bed with Matt and they are joking about it — this is kinda weird. Does anyone else thing baby Gracie is kinda weird looking? Asshole Julie is the Godmother, that’s nice –maybe she will stop being a little bitch now. Jason is back in this episode and he is going to try online dating. This Isabella girl looks just like Lyla — and when he gets a phone call for a date it’s right in front of Lyla, surprise surprise. Wow Rigggins roommate is a psycho stalker and eventually Riggins leaves and ends up camping outside of the Taylors home. Isabella and Jason have there date – she is totally fug – and “peeing” turns her on – some redheaded waitress helps Jason out and you know they are totally gonna hook up. In the meantime Santiago finally gets some sense knocked into him by Buddy Garrison and he kicks ass and practically wins the football game for the Panthers! Jason doesn’t come home from his wild hookup with the redheaded waitress and he tells his parents he is moving out. They have Gracie’s christening and Landry confesses that it was self defense *after Tyra tell him she was scarred for her life*, the police are not pressing charges. The End.

In other news cutie David Blue (aka Micheal’s boyfriend on Ugly Betty) was totally mugged this week! It was on Just Jared yesterday but TMZ picked it up today! Here is the link to his blog :

David Blue Myspace

Also in other news on the way to Mood last night me and a few friends def. saw Ashton Kutcher, Demi Moore, and Penelope Cruz (ok so I didnt really see her but he paparazzo said that she was with them) coming out of a private party at Parc in Hollywood — I tried to take a photo but it’s just of their car. Still reallly cool. I don’t usually get that starstruck around people or do I really see that many stars out there but to see Tom Cruise & David Beckham earlier in the week and now these guys — I guess I really do live in LA.

IM BAACCKK

November 26, 2007

Well I am back in LA and I am almost caught up on all of the TV I missed last week. Lets just do a short recap:

Kid Nation:
Holy crap why would they elect Greg into the council he is an asshole! But totally glad that Laurel won the gold star. Does anyone have a little crush on green guy Michael — if he were ten years older he would be great haha does he have an older brother?

Dirty Sexy Money:
meh ok episode — found myself not paying attention towards most of it, mainly because I was packing — maybe I’ll watch again. Sources say that we will find out this week who the odd-Darling out is. PS did I mention I love Jeremy Darling? Did we see how Juliet is still missing — they must have taped these episodes during her “rehab stint”.

Project Runway
:
Sarah Jessica Parker yeaah! So glad Christian is still safe and I totally want to buy a vest now.

America’s Next Top Model:
The stripper is gone yaahoo. Chantal and Selicia totally sold that cover girl ad they are in it for the long run — and although I still like Heather I mean really how could she be a cover girl? I also didn’t really like her photo-shoot and I really didn’t like Biancas either what a bitch!

Ugly Betty:
Much better episode — although I hated the whole Bradford dream sequence — when did this show become so trippy? I really liked the idea of everyone pulling together to get this magazine up and running and I loved Daniels idea of the blank front page. I feel bad for Amanda…she’ll find her dad eventually.

Survivor was a recap, Gossip Girl was a repeat, Friday Night Lights wasn’t on, and no more The Office until la strike is over
Speaking of the Strike watch this video:

Ugly Betty & Friday Night Lights

November 17, 2007

Soo Lindsay might have to help me on the Ugly Betty front, because I found myself reading the new Entertainment Weekly occasionally instead of watching the show.

Ugly Betty:
This week was about Caleb Nichol Bradford Meade having a heart attack and being stuck in the hospital unconscious. Betty goes to her office and we meet Monique L’Amanda who is the desk night weekend guard chick. Really? Betty has a weird trippy dream thing where she seems herself on the first day at mode and she realizes how screwed up shes become. She comes home and finds Claire Meade and her prison chick (seriously what do we call her?) and they decide Betty needs to sneak back into Mode to find out what the Will says. Betty reluctantly agrees — but only for Daniels sake, even tho he just fired her! Back at the hospital the tranny and Daniel are fighting over whether they want their father to live or die — its compelling television people, and alas Caleb/Bradford awakes to tell them to not fight yadda yadda. Betty tries to break into Mode but L’amanda won’t let her, so shes uses Henry to distract her yadda yadda they get caught when we see Marc & Whilimena also trying to read the will. It’s not in the vault, so they go to the secret sex chamber…and the next thing we know Bradford’s dead. Yeah I guess somewhere in between there is when I stopped watching sooo Lindsay help me out here. meh on the Ugly Betty front.
LB notes: It was an ok episode, I like any time they feature Clare Meade, shes nuts! So Monique/L’Amanda, not funny, seriously, what a waste of TV. And the Betty from the past was a poor way to make a good point – that Betty has changed somewhat. But honestly, would it have made Betty a better person to tell Daniel that Willie is cheating on his dad and leave HER dad to rot in Me-hi-co? Or to doublecross Willihiemena? i dont think so, so get over it old betty!
Clare Meade hiding in the closet was funny at first, but the prison accomplice has gone from kinda somewhat funny to stupid, i hope shes gone for good. Amanda had a nice little speech to Daniel about telling his dad he loves him, when did she grow some emotional deapth?!?
Kristin has the basic plot right – Willie cant inherit unless shes married to Bradford/Caleb (Cabford? hehe) – Marc has one of the funniest lines in the episode, “I’m gonna have to go back to dancing in a cage in my underwear!” hahaha. Willie decides to shanghai Bradford into a wedding (with Marc officiating, haha) but he realizes shes lying about the affair and kicks her out of the ICU. Betty goes to talk to him and he says he misses Clare, who Betty gets on the phone, and whoops Clare blows her cover and goes to speak to Bradford. Their scene was kinda touching, but eh. she gets manhandled out of the ICU by the police, Daniel and Alexis follow (anyone else miss the old scheming Alexis? the one who, though not literally, had some balls?) and Betty goes to sit with Bradford, who promptly dies, just after telling her to take care of Daniel. Boo Hoo, Alan Dale has 2 heart attacks on the books now (PS – he was on 2 episodes of Lost?!?). The show ends with Willie trying to bribe a young doc just out of med school, who obviously has loans (haha shout-out to the boyfriend!) to do something nefarious with Brad’s body. Like let her marry a corpse?!?! We shall see!
Next Week: Willie tries to take over Mode, obvi.

Friday Night Lights,
Yeaaaahhhheeeee hahah I love this show so much and I hope all 53 of you who read this blog yesterday are watching it to. This episode is all about Pantharama, a huge tradition that they apparently left out last year. woops. We open this episode with the brooding Tim Riggins leaving his house after seeing his good for nothing brother coming home with his next door neighbor who Tim used to sleep with. (Now doesn’t that sentence alone make you want to watch the show?) So Tim clearly has to go to his exgfs house to go stay with her and her stripper sister. Love it. Back at Dillion High School we find out that it is the first week of recruitment for the seniors which means a lot of schools are going to be looking out for Smash! We also see Landry telling Tyra that his father blew up his car, and there is a new teacher who looks just like Shane West and low and behold his name is Mr. Noah Barnett which alas Shanes name on ER was Dr. Ray Barnett. Come on people. Back to new English teacher — he is super young and is also the head of the Newspaper, which Julie works on, her assignment this week is to write an article about where all the money goes that is collected at Pantharama (I love when Coach reads it and he says something like “Coach Taylor did not comment –’She asked me when I was in the Bathroom!’) Clearly Julie is gonna develop something with this teacher dum dum dum. Speaking of relationships Matt and the new cheerleader are all sorts of PDA in the hallway which makes Julie all sad…Julie & Matt better get back together soon! In the meantime Santiago *you know the juvie that Lyla rescues that is now working at her fathers car dealership and is playing for the Panthers* turns out he is an orphan and so guess who he gets to move in with. You guesssed it Buddy Garrity, oh the joy this brings to my life. We get to Pantharama where the football players take off all their clothes (thanks to the entertainment department of Tyra & Lyla — I didn’t know Lyla was still in school hmm). Then the clincher — Nurse lady kisses Matt woaaaah. What’s with the older people inappropriateness in this town? Doesn’t matter I still love it. Next episode in two weeks!
Panther Pride!!

Thursday Night TV

November 9, 2007

Wellll here we go again.

Survivor:
Did anyone else notice how they trimmed down the opening credits? I’ve never seen them do that before in 15 seasons. They only featured the people that are still in the show. WEIRD. Beginning of the episode is quite drab, until JeanRobert finds out about the hidden immunity idol and hilarity ensues. I also enjoyed the lovely comment by I can not even remember “This place has been here about a 1000 years I’m sure they can make a won-ton.” I applaud Todd with his whole lets make this game fun, lets switch it up attitude but even his BFF Amanda is doubting him. He needs to pick a path and stick to it bc I heart Todd and I DO NOT want everyone turning on him. But I thought the idea of sideswiping James was amazing too bad it didn’t happen. Loved Frosti singing at the immunity challenge *ps both of the challenges were pretty weak this week*, LOVED Erik talking to JR about the immunity necklaces he’s so cute!! And I loved Todds reaction to JR getting voted out even more. Ahhh goodbye asshole poker player. Good episode. Next week could be a double elimination? ?? What What??

The Office:
Only one more episode left after this one — due to the strike…sad.
Have I mentioned I love Toby and I thought his monologue about the retreat was great *I wish we would have seen some of that!* and Micheal butting in with a “HEY NOBODY CARES” was beyond perfect. The whole idea for the episode was a little weak — it clearly has to do with the big wigs at NBC telling them to tie in something to do with their “get green” shit they’ve been doing all week. But they made a boring idea for an episode quite hilarious. Dwight with all of his hidden weapons — clearly the best one was the one in the file drawer labeled “Mr. A Knife” ahahahhah. Dwight hitting Michael with the shoe “It would be better if you were unconscious”. Poor Jim trying to combine the birthdays — come on everyone wants their own special day. Loved the montage of everyones bday with Michael “Blacks do Crack — not the drug”. Creed with his “Tell her it’s for Creed, she’ll know what that means”. Michael coming back wearing a Battlestar Gallactica sweatshirt and clearly the best moment of the night — Jim saying “that’s what she said”. LOVE IT.

Ugly Betty
:
AWFUL AWFUL. I only say this because of the end. I hated last week and this one almost topped the cake. When did this show become serious and unfunny. Let’s do a Marc and Amanda spinoff bc they are the only reason I am still watching this. Posh was great “She’s practically like my second mum”. Loved Vera Wang. Still love Marc and his gay guy (but he is sooo not gay in real life no way) . Great to find out a bit more about Christina’s husband — do we think he is playing her? New Gay BF Soooo cute showing up all dapper to the wedding. I’m glad Betty showed up to her fathers hearing — that speech they make them do — is that for real? It is INTENSE. Can not believe Daniel fired Betty YIKES. AND WORST MOMENT OF THEM ALL — Did Ugly Betty turn into The OC??? Not only do we have Caleb Nichol collapsing ala season two finale of OC at his wedding THEY PLAYED HALLELUJAH ARE YOU KIDDING ME. GAG times two.

Back in LaLa Land

November 4, 2007

Well I made it safely back to LA — horrah.

And I finally got to catch up on my shows I missed this week.

Ugly Betty
Is this show loosing something? OK I will admit I adore the new plot with Marc and his new boyfriend, it’s so cute to see Mark so vulnerable and I loved his whole schpeal to Amanda about why he likes Cliff. But, on the other hand I am sooo sick of Betty & Henry. Will they won’t they blah blah blah just get over it. At the end of the episode when they did the slow fade on Betty & Henry’s faces with Defying Gravity in the background — made me want to throw up. YUCK. Also, everyone knows that they went and did all that taping from Wicked at the Pantages here in LA — come on it looks nothing like the Gershwin!! I am glad that Justin is back in his Broadway loving mood so yeah to that. We’ll see how next week goes.

Friday Night Lights:
I saved this one for last because sigh…really it’s the best show on Television right now. It’s the first show since the first season of the OC to make me laugh out loud and cry my eyes out in one episode. (And all you OC haters can shove it bc the writing on that first season was great).
This weeks episode did heavy focus on our favorite parents ever Mr & Mrs Coach, who were just outstanding. How did Connie Britton & Kyle Chandler not get nominated for these roles? At the end when Mrs Coach says lets fool around and Mr Coach just went and picked her up I just about cracked up.
Loved the interaction with Julie & Matt. I of course love the two of them together, and I sure to hope that they get back together, BUT I love that Matt stood up for himself this week! Julies been such a brat lately and she deserved that stub by Matt (total plus for mentioning a The Decemberist concert — I want to go!).
Jason finally came to his senses and decided to not get the shark surgery (did I really just say that?). I nearly had a heart-attack when he jumped off the boat. Does anyone else think it’s totally weird that Lyla & Jason’s parents aren’t freaking out that their kids are in fing Mexico!? I mean we expect that from Riggins but….
Finally Landry & Tyra. I am so glad Landry had his little football moment. I bawled my eyes out when he made that tackle, and then when that yellow flag came down and the Panthers went on to win the game with everyone cheering LANDRY LANDRY. I think I will cry when Coach finally stops calling Landry Lance too.. haha

Next week looks like the big confession — we will see.

PS — if you still aren’t watching Friday Night Lights, you’re crazy. Watch it now.

EAGLES vs. COWBOYS tonight!!! GO BIRDS!!
Also, Amazing Race season 12 premieres tonight!

More later :)
