The Tudors Returns

April 22, 2008

Showtime announced today that they are picking up The Tudors for a third season. Yeahh! although we don’t really blog about the show here — we both love it and are so excited it’ll be back. (Honestly tho, did they really think they would start this show and not finish out the infamous story?). Season three will take us thru his marriage to Jane Seymour and Anne of Cleves and will bow sometime in 2009.

You can read the Press Release Here.

The Tudors, season 2

March 17, 2008

Ok, I’m a huge Anglophile. Love the Brits. Love the history of the Anglican Church, the Reformation, and how one man became one of the biggest tyrants in English History. So obviously I love The Tudors on Showtime. All of the actors are HOT HOT HOT! and the story is pretty awesome, if not completely accurate, eh!

Henry and Anne

I purchased the first season on iTunes, and let me tell you, worth the $20. Jonathan Rhys Meyers plays Henry, the young, sexy version that history often overlooks (he was pretty hot at one point, before he decided to stuff his face and possibly develop diabetes). Natalie Dormer plays a fantastic Anne Boleyn, my favorite wife. In a recent interview, she gives a peek into the second season, which starts this March 30, and what it was like to be the first wife that was killed off (and if you have any trouble remembering how many there were and how many were killed try the verse my mommy taught me – “Divorced, beheaded, died; divorced, beheaded, survived.” hehe, Mom is so smart!).

The Tudors is not something I can really recap on here, not having movie channels, but I strongly recommend watching!

PS – If you don’t have Showtime, like me, try iTunes for full seasons, or watch the Season 2 Premier online now!
