Well I haven’t been blogging about the show (mainly bc I dont think I watched it live once…) but I am sooo happy Joshua won, I thought he was the most improved and impressive dancer this year. So hoorah!! If you missed it my favorite part of the finale was when all of my favorite dancers (IVAN!!!) came back and did a little dance thinger to Please Don’t Stop the music (aka they did their own things and then took the choreography from Idol Gives Back) This is a super bad version of it but here it is!
Well this week is the TV Upfronts in NYC. Very exciting. Not all of the networks have presented their final schedules, but we def. know what the lineup will be for a few of them. Here is alll the scoop (compiled from Variety, Hollywood Reporter, Watch with Kristin, Ausiello at TV Guide, and The Futon Critic — you can find the links to all of them over there to the right)
(please be patient as it will take me awhile to compile all this information!!)

So all the major websites are reporting this and I think it’s pretty exciting. The Emmys will most likely be adding a new award to the ceremonies in Sept. Reality Host award! That’s right we might get to see Ryan Seacrest up there accepting an award for his hosting duties. Lets be realistic tho Phil Keogan will probably win since thats the only reality show that wins anything at the Emmys. (I still love you Amazing Race!!). Should be interesting.
(Maybe Heidi Klum? — DEF not the guy who hosted Kid Nation can we say awkward?)
Apparently Travis from season two is choreographing the group numbers at auditions. EEEEEHHH!! I am so excited. I think that AI should take a page from SYTYCD. SYTYCD has continually brought back their past performers to help the newest dancers competing. Why doesn’t AI bring some old contestants to be the mentors too? Come on, Kelly Clarkson!? I’m sure she has some great advice for them
In other random news…a press conference with President Bush about the economy is on here, and in the middle of it KNBC accidentally put on a commercial for a warehouse clear out auction (COME ON DOWN) hahah then they realized it and put Bush back on…I thought it was hilarious.
From Cynopsis this morning — for anyone who thinks they can dance *haha or for that matter anyone who just wants to get on tv*
Casting Call: FOX’s reality competition series So You Think You CanDance will premiere its fourth edition this summer and will begin a national search for dancers this week. The auditions open in Dallas this Thursday, 8a at McFarlin Memorial Auditorium at Southern Methodist University. Other cities include Charleston on January 31; Salt Lake City on February 4; Washington, D.C. on February 21; Los Angeles on March 6; and Milwaukee on March 20. Registration begins at 8a in each city. Applicants who are traveling to cities for the auditions should plan on staying at least two days following their auditions for callbacks. Additional information can be found at www.fox.com/dance .
Hollywood Reporter is reporting *ha* that the producers of High School Musical are going to produce a new musical for MTV. A bunch of people I’ve never heard of are set to be in it (except Autumn Reeser from The OC! ahaha) — but most interesting is that one of the names on the cast list is none other then Neil Haskell –cutie from So You Think You Can Dance this past summer. It has to be him right? Click below to read the rest of the story
I drove past the strikers today on the way back to work after lunch. I think it’s great that the writers have a union standing up for them. I beeped my horn and gave a big thumbs up. Although I hope it doesn’t last too long — I’ll miss my shows come January.
Some other news round ups — rumor has it that if the strike does last as long as it did back in 88 (22 weeks OUCH), then CBS might bring Big Brother back in March! Yeaah for that.
I’ve also heard that apparently in the Hollywood Round for AI (which starts this week) some contestants will be able to use musical instruments — which would be great for those who do, but a hindrance perhaps on those who don’t? Who knows — we shall see.
Also, rumor has it that the season 4 of SYTYCD might be combining their tour with the finalists of AI7 — might work out? Who knows.
