Emmys may add Reality Host award

February 27, 2008

So all the major websites are reporting this and I think it’s pretty exciting. The Emmys will most likely be adding a new award to the ceremonies in Sept. Reality Host award! That’s right we might get to see Ryan Seacrest up there accepting an award for his hosting duties. Lets be realistic tho Phil Keogan will probably win since thats the only reality show that wins anything at the Emmys. (I still love you Amazing Race!!). Should be interesting.
(Maybe Heidi Klum?  — DEF not the guy who hosted Kid Nation can we say awkward?)

Here’s for Jeff Probst for the win!!

TV Time

December 13, 2007

OK so I know this week was mostly focused on The Hills and other TV gossip — but hey there isn’t a lot on. Here is what I watched tonight:

Project Runway:
This week is an amazing challenge. All women who have lost a lot of weight — wearing their favorite outfits — and the designers must take their old fat outfits and make them into fabulous new ones. In the meantime one of our favorites Jack is getting sick — some sort of sore in his mouth that is making his whole face swell up. Unfortunately do to this he must leave the competition to get treatment. (Soo sad — maybe Heidi will have him back next season how awesome would that be!). But in good news Chris who was voted out last week was asked back soo yeaah. Overall the designers made some great outfits. I particularly loved Christians (winner and he has immunity that’s the first mention of that), Kevin’s, and Rami’s. I think that they are the three to beat. Although I really like Jillian in general I don’t know why the judges were fawning over that dress she made. It looks complicated but it was just blah for me. Anyways, Steve who managed to make a Wedding dress into a funeral garbage bag was Auf’d.

I had a good cry

December 6, 2007

So I am ALMOST caught up on television. Tonight I watched:
America’s Next Top Model, Kid Nation, Survivor, and Gossip Girl and here are their recaps:

America’s Next Top Model:
In the words of LB THE BITCH IS GONE HAHA. Karma is a bitch and so is Bianca. The challenge this week was for the girls to go into a mall in Shanghai and accessorize their wardrobe. Bianca being the biatch that she is decides to pretty much sabotage Jennas chance by telling her to waste time and go across the street *and there was nothing there!!* I would have slapped her. Well Karma is a bitch and Jenna won the challenge. But LB you are right Jennas attitude is getting on my nerves!! Why is it that Jaslene’s Cover Girl commercials are so awful and then the Drew Barrymore one that always follows is AHmazing. I don’t get it. The girls do a pretty cool photo shoot — shot by Tyra — on the great wall. Then they take a group photo which I think is a great way to compare them and really the only person who didn’t stand out for me was Bianca and I’m really glad that they decided to get rid of her — the other three clearly deserved to continue. I will leave you with this Bianca quote that sums up her time on the show. “I wasn’t thinking about the other girls — I was thinking about Bianca”. sigh. Season Finale next week

Kid Nation:
Ok so I know not a lot of people watch this show but I found myself bawling my eyes out at this episode. These kids!! Ok so lets start at the very beginning (a very good place to start…) Sophia is still the sheriff and the council leaves town to go look for Indians and leaves her in charge, much to the dismay of the other kids. Turns out Sophia is a great leader and all of the kids really respect her. Unlike the council and specifically Greg the asshole, who Taylor hopes DIES while he is on his trip, a little harsh beauty queen. While the council is on the way to see the Native American Indians (what is the proper term?) we get this amazing quote: “It looks like an igloo — no dude it’s a teepee”. HA Kids. Alex and Jared our two intellectual kids go on their own adventure and come across some pretty wicked bones “Think of it as an anatomy class” DUDE there is no way these kids had an anatomy class - aren’t they in like 2nd grade!? On the way out Jared (carrying a giant pelvis bone) proclaims “Pelvis has left the building….I know it’s corny” HAHAH Love him. The council is asking the leaders of the tribe they visit for advice and in the meantime the rest of the town competes in a challenge. The win the reward and the two options are a giant rock plaque signifying their time at bonanza *starting to tear up* or hot air balloon rides where they can look back on their time there from above. Hard decision and it’s all up to sheriff sophia — who picks the Hot Air Balloon rides. I’m surprised more kids aren’t afraid to go on these — maybe it’s because it looks like they only lifted a few feet into the air ahaha. The council comes back and it’s time to decide who should get the gold star. Most people are voting for Migle (one of the girls they were calling Paris & Nicole before– I mean really?) Alex the cute 9 year old genius, or Jared the weirdo smart 11 year old. Then we see Zach the former council leader who is so good with his words and his leadership that you forget he is only ten years old. He asks the council to consider him for the gold star — which is clearly very hard for him as he starts to cry — while asshole Greg starts laughing at him! Kids can be so cruel. Zach leaves and decides that it is completely disrespectful of the council to laugh at him when he is pouring his heart out to them, so he confronts them about it. Greg puts on a total front and says that he respects him and he didn’t mean to laugh which is total bullshit and DK totally calls him out on it. This Greg kid needs a good ass whooping. At the town council meeting the gold star goes to Alex and he is completely shocked which makes his win all the better. The moment that got me all teared up and i literally starting bawling my eyes out was when the kids had a campfire at the end of the episode. They are all sitting around the fire and trying to decide if they are excited to go home or sad to be leaving their friends. Then Anjay who was an original council member says thru tears “this is the only place i’ve ever fit in”. It’s just heartbreaking and real and it just makes me wish that this show taught these kids to be tolerant of other children and people from all over and to not judge one another. Great Episode.

Survivor:
P.G. wants to stir some things up and that is how the episode starts. The reward challenge is a giant maze and OH NO. GREAT I’m already bawling my eyes out from Kid Nation and now I find out it’s the family member episode of Survivor. I don’t even know these people but I always cry my eyes out at the family episode. In a “could it be another Johnny Fairplay” moment we find out that Todd’s sister has a miscarriage. First of all Todd is not that stupid to do that trick again — he’s a huge fan of the game and he knows that everyone will be thinking that. Secondly this is his sister and her child that we are talking about, it’s not something that I think someone would joke about. And we find out later in the episode that it was indeed completely truthful. Denise wins and decides to bring Amanda & Todd on her reward, which includes their family members. May I also say that holy crap Amanda and her sister look exactly alike — as do Todd and his sister. Immunity challenge which could have easily been won by Amanda or Todd was won by PG AGAIN ugh. Denise is totally the swing vote tonight and she decides to stick with her original tribe and they vote out cutey Erik. (PS what in the hell was with that awful tribal music right as they were all walking in!?). Only two episodes left!

Gossip Girl:
LB was right! This was a great episode! First question is uhhh I thought Deb balls were only a Southern thing. I am from the North East and I have NEVER heard of this happening at all — can anyone else confirm? haha. But then again this is a Josh Schwartz show and we know he had a Deb episode on his other amazing show. The OC. sigh RIP.
Nate wants B back aww and she sewed a button with a heart onto his sleeve back in the day so cute. Jenny is a total biatch to her mom! When did she become so materialistic? S’s gma is in town for the Deb Ball and she surprise surprise she is going to die. (or is she?) Loved the reference from Chuck on “Shes just not that into you”. We find out that the gma is quite a little biatch as she trys to buy off the Humphrey family so that Dan won’t escort S to the Deb Ball. (She wants Carter to escort her instead — turns out his real name is Sebastian and I think that is a way better name then Carter for this show — don’t you think?). Turns out not only did she try to buy off the Humphreys — the reason that S’s mom broke things off with Rufus is because if she didn’t gma would take away her inheritance. WHAT. Dan goes to S and tells her about the gma — which she totally doesn’t believe — which is understandable, I mean this is her family. S totally stands up to her mom and mom agrees and goes to talk to Dan about how he is a great guy and should totally go rescue her at the Deb Ball — which he does yeah!! S stands up to gma and we find out shes not really dying. WOW. Chuck is sad that B and Nate are getting back together and we end with Apologize from One Republic (the should have used the original version not the cheesey one with Timbaland). In case anyone else is wondering the band performing at the Deb ball is “The Pierces” and I thought they totally rocked — kinda reminded me of Rosin Murphy. Here is a video:

Tomorrow — Friday Night Lights, and recaps from Dirty Sexy Money & Project Rnwa

Ugly Chickens deserve to die

November 29, 2007

Project Runway:
–will update tomorrow– with some Hills news oohh

Kid Nation:
Taylor is a little biatch and she will be sooo embarrassed watching this when she is older. Not only is she a spoiled brat but she gave us this amazing quote tonight: “ugly chickens should just die and all the pretty ones should stay — ugly people can put on makeup chickens cant.” The episode begins with the younger kids not wanting the older kids to kill the pretty chickens and Taylor saying that the ugly chickens deserve to die. WOW. In complete contrast we have the three brainiacs of the show Alex, Nathan, and Jared talking about pi haha. During the challenge the kids have to choose between books and an arcade, and for the first time they pick the sweet choice of the arcade. Meanwhile Sophia makes a tepee library and Alex contemplates whether he trusts them with his two books so cute. In the end the town council decides that Sophia is the new town sheriff and she will decide when people are allowed to play in the arcade. Wise choice but will it go to her head? Cutie Hunter wins the gold star!!

Survivor:
Well last time we saw this we were left with a cliffhanger that made us all think it was a double elimination. Well it was a fakeout :( Its a reward challenge — ooooh haah they winner gets to go to some Kung Fu thing whatever — PG wins and takes Denise & Erik (duh). We learn that Denise can do Kung Fu — she is a mullet wearing kung fu lunch lady AWESOME. Amanda finally decides to take some action and formulates a plan to vote out James tonight and blind-swipe him to get rid of the hidden immunity idols. Immunity Challenge time —oh no will James win? Here is the convo between me and Brandon during our normal survivor IM Chat
kh: james is last
kh: AHHHHHHHHH
kh: YES YES YES ERIK
bhuff: your survivor boyfriend
kh: YESS
Erik win yeaahhh!!! Everyone agrees about James, he doesn’t use the idols (idiot) and he is voted out!! Awesome. Hopefully he will be back for All Stars 2 and he will play a better game — although I think those allstars will get him out early bc of his strength. Next week Amanda might be turning on our boy Todd! ut oh

IM BAACCKK

November 26, 2007

Well I am back in LA and I am almost caught up on all of the TV I missed last week. Lets just do a short recap:

Kid Nation:
Holy crap why would they elect Greg into the council he is an asshole! But totally glad that Laurel won the gold star. Does anyone have a little crush on green guy Michael — if he were ten years older he would be great haha does he have an older brother?

Dirty Sexy Money:
meh ok episode — found myself not paying attention towards most of it, mainly because I was packing — maybe I’ll watch again. Sources say that we will find out this week who the odd-Darling out is. PS did I mention I love Jeremy Darling? Did we see how Juliet is still missing — they must have taped these episodes during her “rehab stint”.

Project Runway
:
Sarah Jessica Parker yeaah! So glad Christian is still safe and I totally want to buy a vest now.

America’s Next Top Model:
The stripper is gone yaahoo. Chantal and Selicia totally sold that cover girl ad they are in it for the long run — and although I still like Heather I mean really how could she be a cover girl? I also didn’t really like her photo-shoot and I really didn’t like Biancas either what a bitch!

Ugly Betty:
Much better episode — although I hated the whole Bradford dream sequence — when did this show become so trippy? I really liked the idea of everyone pulling together to get this magazine up and running and I loved Daniels idea of the blank front page. I feel bad for Amanda…she’ll find her dad eventually.

Survivor was a recap, Gossip Girl was a repeat, Friday Night Lights wasn’t on, and no more The Office until la strike is over
Speaking of the Strike watch this video:

One Week Anniversary

November 8, 2007

Yeah for having a blog for one week. More yeah for Wednesday night TV. Usually this is my busiest night with FIVE shows to watch. But thanks to the oh so boring CMA Awards (or is it CMT whatever) Pushing Daises and Dirty Sexy Money were not on this week. Which leaves us to review the following:

America’s Next Top Model:
Well Ambreal gets another chance, and believe it or not she survives, and shes not even in the bottom two (or three!). This is the all so infamous “movement episode” which although hilarious is quite boring. The real reason I watch this show, and I feel like a lot of people watch the show, is because of these amazing photos shoots — instead we get a cheesey Enrique Ingleasis *SP??* video shoot. Tyra is going to show the girls how to move like a model — why in Gods name, besides humiliation, would they put them in full body tan bodysuits. Will they be wearing them ever? UCK. Heather looks like she is dying during the “wall” exercise and the “crawl” exercise. HILARIOUS. Surprise Surprise Lisa and Heather are the two chosen girls for the video — if these two are in the final two I’ll scream, a stripper and a weirdo girl. AWESOME. Another gripe I have with ANTM is that they always let you know who is in danger of being in the bottom two from the beginning of the episode, by focusing on that person and having them say at least once “Im amazing” “Ill stay” whatever. We clearly knew it would be Sarah and Chantal in the bottom two this week, but I really thought Chantel would get the boot, too bad bc I liked both of them. Will a plus size model ever win this show?

Kid Nation:
The kids are BORED so they lay on the ground? Classic. The whole episode is centered around a talent show that the kids want to put on. What I was looking forward to see the most? Clearly Jared performing Shakespeare and man he did not disappoint. Someone give this kid his own show. I LOVED little Alex talking about the two girls on the blue team who don’t do anything “They call them Paris & Nicole, I don’t know what that means” ahahah children. Was anyone else completely turned off by the challenge? My parents would have a fit. OK kids you have an hour to chew as much sugary awful bad for your teeth gum as you can and then spit it into someone elses hand go. How many kids besides Laurel have braces? GROSS. AND for Anjay to put someone elses chewed gum into his mouth — what happened to diseases in this town? Green finally wins top honors of getting to be lazy and do nothing. Now the talent show — most of it is pretty lame lol Kelsey clearly is amazing at the piano good for her, some kid does bird noises, Jared does his amazing King Henry monologue (major props for the 11 year old memorizing Shakespeare!), some other kid humor blah blah. I’m surprised they didn’t show Taylor & Lyla whatever her name is, the two beauty queens, showing off their talent — couldn’t they walk and wave? The real talent of the night came AFTER the talent show when DK asks Laurel to sing. I wasn’t expecting much but HOLY CRAP that girl can sing. She should go on another reality show bc for a 12 year old girl her control and tone was fantastic. Great voice I hope she continues and pursues that. But she should learn the words to Amazing Grace before singing it on national tv. :) Gold Star goes to self proclaimed weirdo Kennedy. Now she seems way normal compared to her MOM. Her mom will def. be on BestWeekEver and the Soup this week. WHAT A CRAZY. Pink sweater, pink phone, pink BOW IN HER HAIR *yes this is a mom* and pearls. Screaming her head off and crying. Great end to the episode. Next week they change up the groups a bit.

Finally, Gossip Girl:
Let me just say this to start, WHY do they start every episode recapping the entire season? Why can’t they just recap what happened last time? Do we really need to see S. at that damn train station again? Decent episode — loved all the sex dreams that Dan was having, quite hilarious haha and he watched porn. He is Seth Cohen. Does anyone else think his ex-gf is the stalker much? Did I ever mention that I love B. hair color. I wonder if its natural. I’m glad she finally stuck up for herself and walked out on Nate, but EW CHUCK gross girl.

Speaking of — what is with the name Chuck this year, Chuck on GG, Chuck on Pushing Daises, and obviously the show Chuck. I’m about Chucked out.

till next time XOXO

(only a GG reference I don’t really say that…)

EDIT:
OHH and some Gossip on the Hills — this was on reality blurred WOAH what do we think?

http://www.realityblurred.com/realitytv/archives/the_hills/2007_Nov_07_lauren_heidi_spencer_sex_tape

A tabloid report suggests a new layer of deception on The Hills: Lauren and Heidi might actually still be friends, not mortal enemies.

In late October, the two feuding stars “were laughing, hugging and being very affectionate with one another. There were no MTV cameras around. This seemed like the real deal. I saw Heidi coming to visit Lauren at her apartment without her fiancé Spencer Pratt,” an anonymous source told Star magazine. The tabloid reports that the two “were seen together the weekend before Halloween getting into Lauren’s black Mercedes convertible, which was parked in the garage of Lauren’s building.”

Meanwhile, the National Enquirer reported today that Heidi’s fiance Spencer Pratt, who was accused of spreading rumors that Lauren Conrad had a sex tape, has “a sex tape of his own that shows him and a few buddies exploring … hot Brazilian babes.” The paper cites an “inside source” who “says Spencer showed the tape to a Hollywood video editor and repeatedly asked him to spruce it up — saying he might secretly release it into the marketplace while claiming it was ‘stolen,’ a la Paris Hilton, Pam Anderson, etc.”

However, Spencer denies that’s true. “I was never on camera, and there is no sex tape. However, I did go to Brazil three years ago to film a jujitsu tournament for a documentary,” Spencer told Us Weekly. However, an anonymous source offered encouragement, saying that the value of such a tape “could be upward of a million dollars. He could turn it into a money-making machine.”

“I’m not as Dumb as I look”

November 1, 2007

So tell me if this is wrong:
I’m waiting for Survivor to go on and so I’m watching The Insider. They are doing a story on a extremely anorexic woman. First commercial out of the show is on weight loss. Ironic? Or Stupidity on the local CBS affiliate airing the commercials. You tell me.

First up Kid Nation:
This was one of the weakest episodes, only because they decided to focus more on the kids we don’t know (mainly bc an unknown goes on to win the gold star but whatever). It’s partially good bc if they focused one more episode on beauty queen brat Taylor I would probably scream. Best moments and quotes of the night include:
- The kids comparing selling food to Microsoft.
- “I just hope we don’t end up like the Donner Family, eating their own people”.
- Ohh look there is the conveniently not hidden treasure chest.
- In reference to the dishes: “Just dip it in the water then it’s clean”.
- Wow Greg the 15 year old asshole kinda redeemed himself by saying that he wanted Nathan to win the gold star because he always picks on him but he still does his work.

The Goldstar winner is oddball Nathan who will use the money to continue his music lessons, good for him.

I’m such a sap, every-time the kids call their families I feel the water works come on hahah.
Nest week is the talent show wooooo

Survivor:
First shoutout to my Survivor buddy BHuff
Last week was an AMAZING episode that didn’t really go in my boy Todd’s way let’s see what happens tonight.

Ok GREAT GREAT episode of Survivor. We have the anticipated (or is it?) merge. James has really grown on me, when did he become so funny? We also learn that the jury will be 7 people again. Just as a recap can we say the best moment of the night was clearly when Probst goes “This is not an immunity idol” and then throws it in the fire, while the rest of the tribemates crack up. LOVE IT!!
Other amazing moments:
- Todd pulling a Taylor from KN “Deal with it — Bitch”
- I got all sorts of excited when Jeff said the game never stops, but it turned out to just be a lame immunity challenge
- “we cant use black because once James leaves we can’t use it anymore” “hey whatever me and pei jeh were on the yellow team” Did that really happen?
- Frosti wins the first individual immunity
- I hate Jean Robert?
- Jamie’s “I’m not as dumb as I look” touche Jaime.
- “He just don’t be quiet” in reference to JR love you James!
- And of course the fake idol in the fire.

Looking forward to next week!!

The Office
This episode is directed by Joss Whedon. It’s hard to recap The Office bc its clearly my favorite show, and it just makes it so much easier to talk about my favorite moments, but I will try. This episode sees every-ones favorite Bitch (but is she? haha) as the Regional Manager of the Utica branch where she offers our wonderfully awkward Stanley a job (with more money). Clearly that means the Michael has to go up to Utica (with Dwight and Jim no less) to play a prank on them in hopes of winning Stanley back? This can only mean bad things lol. Dude when did Michael get a PT Cruiser? What happened to the Sebring? Karen confronts Jim, calls him out makes Karen feel awful which is great bc we don’t like her anyways. STANLEY DECIDES TO STAY and Jim is invited to joining the Finer Things club.
Favorite Moments and Quotes:
- Aww someone else saying Dunder Mifflin this is “____”.
- “You can not take the hilarious black guy from the office”
- “I dont know how George Bush did it when Colin Powell left”
- The Finer Things club ahahhaa Toby is totally in there for Pam
- Oscar “besides having sex with men the finer things club is the gayest thing i do”
- Michael trying to trade Stanley for Toby
- “Everyone says Scranton branch is worse then Camden” (they have Dunder Mifflin in Camden — can they please go there!?!)
- Mustaches
- Dwight peeing in a can? “I think I cut my Penis”
- Karen cried for weeks over Jim awww Jim is sooo cute!!
- “Oh No I didn’t want to see you” — Jim to Karen LOVE IT.
- “Wanted: middle age black man with a lot of sass, big butt, bigger heart”
- Jim’s Irish (?) accent

Ugly Betty will be watched later, not sure if I will recap.

In other news, this was just posted on my favorite TV blogger Kristin from E!’s site:

Apparently according to her sources MTV is casting for Heidi & Spencer’s wedding on The Hills
what what?

I dunno about the truth to this but here is the link for those who are interested

Watch with Kristin

Till next time

Halloween

November 1, 2007

It’s 10:45 on Halloween night in Vegas. I’m watching TV AWESOME. Just a few more days here in Vegas thankfully and I will be back in LaLaLand. Recaps on TV Watching Tonight:

Pushing Daises:
Good Episode — I love the concept of this show, but it makes me sad that I’m not as captivated as I was with the first few episodes. I did enjoy the Kristin Chenoweth centered episode haha Cheno as a jockey, Hilarious! Next episode in two weeks looks better.

Dirty Sexy Money :
Loved this episode. THis is the best ensemble cast on TV right now. Isn’t Jeremy Darling just darling? I’m not sure quite how I feel about the whole Simon Elder subplot story thing. I’m glad Nick told Trip about why he was working with Elder… Brian and Brian JR. are really endearing.

America’s Next Top Model — recap week BOORING

Gossip Girl - Repeat of the Pilot BORING

Kid Nation - is it bad I enjoy watching this horrid show? Anyways, no DVR in Vegas so I will be watching this online tomorrow, recap to come.

Watching the commerical for Beowulf — looks awful. I remember reading that Senior Year in high school. meh.
