Emmy Nominations…

July 17, 2008

Well I was so excited for this day….but alas I am now sad.  We got a whole big SNUB for my favorite Friday Night Lights.  The one show who really needed the Emmy Nods.  Sigh — this will most likely be the end of FNL so enjoy it this season while it last.  Otherwise YEAH for Kristin Chenoweth, Matt Dillion, and everyone in John Adams.  BIG YEAH for American Idol & Ryan Seacrest (although secretly I think Jeff Probst should TOTALLY win for Survivior — he is the BEST host in the biz…)   I am also totally surprised Pushing Daises did not make the cut, I thought it would WIN jeeeze….

Friday Night Light Benches Two Players.

July 8, 2008

Well if you weren’t already aware our beloved Friday Night Lights WAS picked up next season…so why the RIP sign?  Well turns out Smash and Jason won’t be a part of that next season. Well at least as regulars.  *Pause for crying and sighing*.  Smash is one of my favorite characters and the show will most def. miss him.  Clearly we knew after this season he would be leaving to go to college but I dunno I didn’t think he would be downgraded to just a recurring star.  Jason will be too busy taking care of his pregnant girlfriend waitress.

Goodbye Smash and Street.  We will miss you.  Read more at Ausiellos new dwellings Entertainment Weekly

NBC’s 2008-2009 Schedule

April 2, 2008

NBC’s 2008-2009 schedule includes FNL!!! Hoorah. Apparently in the fall DirectTV will air new episodes of FNL and then they will be followed in the winter on NBC. I guess I need to find a friend with DirectTV. There is this whole business of a Office spinoff. Should be interesting — I hope they don’t take anyone out of the original to put in the new one. Lipstick Jungle is also coming back! For all your updates I would look to Watch with Kristin and Ausiello — you can get the links from the blog roll on the right. Click more for the NBC Schedule

OMG OMG FNL RENEWED

March 5, 2008

I am FREAKING OUT over the news that FNL will most likely be renewed!!!!!!!Click here to read more!

CLEAR EYES FULL HEARTS CANT LOOSE!!!

Keep the Lights on!

February 21, 2008

Usually Kristin posts stuff on FNL, but as I can post at work with somewhat less worry of getting caught than she, this one is all me!  But I must cut and paste the IM convo that led to this:

Kristin: OMG OMG OMG
Kristin: please tell me you can post
Kristin: THANK YOU
Kristin: AHHHH
Kristin: fingers crossed!

What is the excitement about you may ask?  Well . . . FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS MAY LIVE ON!!!!  Watch with Kristin and Variety are both reporting that NBC is “currently talking to various networks about the idea of sharing the show’s third season among more than one channel in an effort to save the series from cancellation and broaden its audience.”

The channels they are talking about include the CW, TNT, DirecTV, and few others.

Variety reports, “Just how the shared window plan would work is unclear, but one model may be the plan NBC worked out for “Law & Order: Criminal Intent.” Starting this season, episodes of “CI” premiered on USA Network and aired a few months later on NBC.”

Yay!!!! Keep the lights on!! Keep signing the petition and make sure this happens!!

Best of Spoiler Ask

February 21, 2008

Except…no Spoiler chat this week? What? But there were some great little tidbits in Ask Ausiello.

Question: Kind of going crazy here. Can you find out what the deal is with Prison Break? The season finale aired Monday, and there seems to be some confusion as to whether or not it’s ever coming back. — Mike
Ausiello: Much to my surprise, I’m hearing a fourth season is pretty much a lock. Go figure.

Kristin: Well — I guess we will find out what happens to our boys. I hope its kinda a short season. We don’t want this show to end on a drawn out fourth season. Let’s wrap up this story and end it while it’s on top. eh?

Question: I love Gossip Girl! Is it coming back this fall? — Tammy
Ausiello: Try this summer. Although nothing’s official, I’m hearing the CW is strongly considering bringing the show back in July/August with an original run of episodes. And that’s in addition to the five new episodes we’re getting beginning April 21. For more on when (or if) your favorite shows are returning, see my Strike Recovery Chart.

Kristin: This summer? Huh? Are they trying to compete with the Olympics? Or did they just not order up any other shows for this summer because of the strike? Then again, The OC (sigh RIP) started in the summer and it kicked ass so who knows.

Question: How’s it looking for Friday Night Lights? — Kevin

Ausiello: Not great. NBC gaveTaylor Kitsch permission to take a major role in the forthcoming X-Men spin-off Wolverine, which essentially KO’s any chance the show had of coming back this season.

Kristin: WAAHHHHHH Did you guys sign the petition and send your lightbulbs yet?

The shows are back!!! (soon!)

Apologies

February 8, 2008

Cute Article

February 5, 2008

So the New York Post has done this great little piece with some of our favorite TV writers rewriting the season finales of our favorite shows. Def. read the ones about The Office and FNL, they are hilarious.

http://nymag.com/news/features/43592/

Ben Silverman = BOO

February 5, 2008

So Ben Silverman who is Mr. PTB at NBC apparently had a run in with some guy from Radar Magazine…and then he published thier conversation. Unfortunetly it is not something we’d like to hear from the head honcho at NBC. Read Below

Radar: Quick question! A lot of us are happy that you’ve kept Friday Night Lights on the air despite lousy ratings. It’s totally the best show on TV. But is there going to be another season?
Silverman: Do you watch
30 Rock? That’s the best show on TV.

Not regularly. But what about FNL?
Start watching
30 Rock. It’s the best show on TV.

I don’t want to watch 30 Rock. I want to watch FNL. I love it.
I love it. You love it. Unfortunately, no one watches it. That’s the thing with shows. People have to watch them. We’re NBC, we have a reputation to uphold. And, man, with this writers’ strike … well, we’ll see what we can do. But start watching
30 Rock.

NOOOO, this can NOT be good news for us FNL lovers. If you don’t watch — start watching now, because if the last new episode of FNL that I see is this weeks finale, I will cry.

Radar Magazine

The At-Risk Youth – Friday Night Lights

February 1, 2008

So, I heard rumors from some of my favorite tv bloggers that tonights episode of FNL was a real tearjerker. Now let me preface this by saying — for those of you who read my blog already know this — I cry at the drop of a hat. So to read that other people were crying at this episode, well to say the least I put my comfy PJs on, got my yummy WW Cookie Dough Ice Cream sundae ready, and had the kleenex in hand. Let me tell you — it did NOT dissapoint. Read the recap after the jump! (PS is that not an awesome picture of Matt Saracen Zach Gilford)

January 29, 2008

Soo every Monday I read the Spoiler Chat over at Watch with Kristin and every Wednesday I read Ask Ausiello over at TV Guide. I thought it would be fun to just recap some of my favorite questions for you all to read. But I would totally recommend going and reading the whole posts themselves because there’s bound to be some questions on there that you have too! Also, cleary these are SPOILERS so read with caution

Id love to butter you some toast – Friday Night Lights

January 25, 2008

Jason Street is back on the show and he is having money troubles, he only has 8gs to his name and his car is gonna cost 4gs to fix. Buddy asks him if hes ever thought about selling cars. ut oh. Creepy dude finds Riggins at the store and he tells him that he misses him and then he kicks the crap out of him and says he has till the end of the week to tell him where his money is. The police show up at Smashs house and they are arresting him on assault charges. oh shit.

“I think Jesus is hot” Friday Night Lights

January 21, 2008

Ok i apologize for the super lateness of this recap, it was a busy weekend.

We begin with the Taylor’s contemplating on sending Gracey to daycare, and Carlotta telling Matt that she is going back to Guatemala because her family needs her for some unknown reason. Next we see Santiago (who for some weird reason i want to call Q…?) in the parking lot of the school with some random gangsta/homey whatever trying to get him to cut school — but in the end he gives him props for being on the football team and getting his life together, they will hang out later. Lyla is now a Christian Radio host with some cute guy who will totally want to hook up with her later for sure. Noelle wants Smash to have dinner with her parents (rut oh…). Santiago goes and meets up with his hoodlum gang and Buddy runs into them all and naively invites them all over to “hang out”. Come on.

Friday Night Lights — I don’t know if you would like it it’s very talky.

January 11, 2008

Last week was an amazing episode. Let’s see how this one pans out.

Smash gets visits from Alabama, Oklahoma Tech, Michigan, Georgia, which will he pick? Julie wakes up and Coach says its his fault and he shouldn’t have invited Riggins to stay in the house. Julie totally didn’t say anything to defend him — yet. I cant believe Coach wasn’t pissed that she was I dunno TRASHED isn’t she 15? Riggins was sleeping in the locker room and Coach is still giving him a hard time. AHHH someone tell him the truth!! Smash basically tells his mom that he will be making a verbal commitment sometime soon about college — when all she wants is for him to take his time. This boy is an idiot. He
is so naive. Aunt whatever passes her real estate license test. Hoorah. Riggins goes back to brothers house and he is gone and there is an eviction notice on the door. Oklahoma Tech totally corners Smash’s mom and Mrs. Coach saves her butt. Julie goes to confront Riggins and says shes sorry she didn’t tell Coach the truth (she doesn’t want him to know she was drunk) she also thanks him for basically keeping creepy English lit dude off her back.
