Lauren Conrad & Stephen Colletti — an update

May 19, 2008

Wendy in Seattle: Any word on The Hills? I cannot stop watching and obsessing about that show. Please help me!
I’m currently working with the scientists at Cal Tech to develop medication or shock therapy for this ailment, as I have it, too. I’ll keep you posted. Not sure if this should technically be in the spoiler section, but sources close to the show tell me that Lauren Conrad and Stephen Colletti (also seen on One Tree Hill) are “heating up” in their “rekindled romance!” Holla! And get this: Word is, Stephen may actually be moving to Los Angeles to live with Lauren this summer during One Tree Hill’s hiatus. Juicy, no? Says the source: “They’re doing really well together.”

Via Watch with Kristin...just thought I would share :)

Lack of Updates

May 19, 2008

To say I’ve been busy lately is an understatement, and although it’s not a good excuse — it is mine.  Here are my brief thoughts on the last three note worthy tv episodes I’ve watched.

The Office – Season Finale
I have only seen Amy Ryan in Gone Baby Gone and I initially did not recognize her as the new HR person, but I thought she was excellent.  Who else LOVED her interaction with Kevin? I thought that storyline was amazing.  Sad…hahah for Kevin, but amazing. “I love pie”.  I felt AWFUL for Michael, and Dwight, AND JIM– I was like really? All three of them? Clearly Dwight got his revenge in the end, and that was sweet sweet justice.  You know who else got her justice? Phyllis!! AMAZING.  She was great in this episode.  I’m really glad they are letting the smaller characters get some air time (ala Meredith in the beginning of the season, and Stanley a few back).  Loved the whole episode and I found myself cracking up throughout the entire episode.

Lost
Ok I was BAWLING my eyes out in the first five minutes, when the Oceanic 6 all walked out of the plane.  NICE.  LOVED the Sawyer/Jack interaction.  LOVED Sun totally ripping her father a new one.  So excited for the season finale, and I’m so glad it’s not this week, but next — because I will be away!!

Gossip Girl
well…its was fairly good I suppose.  Totally loved Blair getting even with Georgina.  The whole Serena/Dan thing was a bit Marissa/Ryan for me.  And at a wedding? Come on Josh Schwartz…if they end next season with a death, I will highly doubt your creativity skills.  Chuck really had my roommate and I wrapped around his little finger.  We used to HATE him, and we ended up LOVING him.  Even at the end.. Sigh.  Good episode.  Last weeks was better tho.

Again, no American Idol recaps this week — because I’ll be at both show!!! Soo Go David Cook and I hope you guys all enjoy watching!!!!

Well we have our final two, sorry if you are keen to not see spoilers, but the final two are!!

Next week I won’t be live blogging the shows because….I will be at both of them! How exciting.  THEN I fly home right after the show on Wednesday night for a wedding, so who knows when I will get to blog about the finale, but alas I think you know how I feel about it anyways.

Congrats to the Davids!!

American Idol – Top Three!!

May 13, 2008

Ok so each person sings three songs, they begin with Judge’s Choice, then their own pick, then Producer’s choice.

David Archuleta-“And So It Goes”
Well I think Billy Joel will be great for him! This sounds like a gospel song or something, I love that he is starting this out acapella. He sounds fantastic. I love love Billy Joel, and I’ve never heard this song before. It’s quite pretty and kinda predictable for DA, I think I would have liked to hear him something out of his comfort zone. Very Very Nice performance by David. Randy thought he was in the zone. Paula thought it was pure and beautiful. Simon thought it was very good, not surprising, bit predictable.

Syesha Mercado-“If I Ain’t Got You”
What a LAME song choice for her, why not have her sing “How come you don’t call me” instead? I hate that dress she looks old. I’m glas she brought the low notes up an octave so she could really sing them. She did not hit the “I DON’T” note. Wow that was quick — and boring. The end was boring too. Not impressed at all. Randy thought it was amazing. Paula thought she looked pretty. Simon thought she sang it well, Simon wished Randy picked another song.

David Cook-“First Time Ever I Saw Your Face”
I really want him to sing Champagne Supernova. Or what about Free Fallin by Tom Petty! Wow this is reallly high for him. It’s kinda awkward. Well once we got past that first part, he is starting to rock it out. Wow, the end was fantastic. It was just a little too short for me, it was a lot of build up to the end. Loved the end, Hated the beginning. Simon is reallllly clapping. Randy loved the high note at the end, but he wished he would have picked something more rockerish. Paula said forget them, it’s about YOU and now he is the second favorite person who sings it. Simon thought it was one of his best performances this season. Round one goes to Cook and Cowell. Awww David Cooks mom is so cute! He said Happy Belated Mothers day BTW hhaha he is so cute.

David Archuleta-“With You.”
OMG wow what a song. OH MY GOD this is an awful song for him.  Him singing Boo, Mama, and Cutie he sounds so weird.  I think he messed up the words too.  I feel like he didn’t pick this song himself hahah.  He looks so so awkard up there trying to dance.  That was pretty much the weirdest thing ever.  AWW GAVIN DEGRAW! Randy thought it was the wrong song.  He didn’t believe it.  Paula thought he did a great job.  Simon applauds him that he did something different, but it was like a chihuahua trying to be a tiger.

Syesha Mercado-“Fever.”
What a lame, over done song for her to pick — hey thats two in a row.  Another sparkley dress for her.  Wow I already hate it.  The chair is just too cabaretish for me.  She doesn’t sound like she is singing this in full voice.  Paris Bennett was like 900 times better at this song.  She is NOT singing this to her full potential.  Maybe she is trying to not overdo it before the last song.  How boring.  Randy thought it was interesting but great performance.  Paula looks lovely again and she’s surprised she sang this song, and it doesn’t show who she is an artist.  Simon thinks she will probably regret that choice tomorrow and he also thinks it was cabaretish.

David Cook-“Dare You To Move.”
Wow I haven’t heard this song in awhile, but I love it.  I hope he belts the hell out of the chorus.  David seems surprised that people in the audience know the song — uhh hello it was on the radio for like ever.    I have a feeling this song will be on iTunes top downloads now.  Oh he changes the chorus a bit.  I can’t decide how I feel about it, his phrasing is a little weird, but he still sounds good.  I love this song so I don’t care.  Randy loves the song, but it was a little pitchy.  Paula thought it was too short and she wanted more.  Simon didn’t think it was an OK song choice.

David Archuleta-“Longer.”
Wow what a boring predictable song for him to sing.  They should have had him sing God Bless America.  Or like I said last week, the Rainbow Connection haha.  Randy thought it was interesting, and wow he can sing the phonebook (I should count how many times he has said that).  Paula thought it was lovely.  Simon thought he sang the song well, but the song was horrible.

Syesha Mercado-“Hit Me Up.”
Oh this is different, good song! She looks good! Oh she didn’t need to go up and run like a crazy woman on this song.  We know you can sing lady, so just sing the song.  Didn’t like the end, but that was easily the most enjoyable performance she had for the whole night.  Randy thought it was OK for him. Paula thought she did the song well.  Simon thought it was better then the second song.

David Cook-“I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing.”
What a lame song.  I mean ok its not lame its actually a really pretty song, but I think its a lame choice.  My favorite performances of Davids are him singing uptempo songs, sooo he should have done that.  Or they should have choose that.  I like the new orchestral arrangement, its a little faster.   Oh i’m glad he is singing the bridge.  Wow he is owning this song.  Paula is standing.  Randy thought it was OK.  Paula said “see ya in the finales”,  Simon said “David Cook wins the night” YEAHHH!!!  Everyone is standing.  NICE!!

Casting News

May 13, 2008

Well Michael Rappaport will be a new series regular on Prison Break. Meh. I don’t think he’s funny at all — so maybe he will do good with drama? Per Hollywood Reporter

Also, Megan Mullaly will be joining the new ABC Pilot “Bad Mother’s Handbook” With Alicia Silverstone. Everyone wonders how Megan Mullaly will play Alicia Silverstone’s mother. I wonder if they were hoping she would have a Tony Nomintation today and that’s why they are announcing it now….too bad, she didn’t haha.  Per Variety

Get ready for LOTS of TV news this week everyone!!!

DWTS – semi finals!

May 13, 2008

Its been a long long month, so sorry for the pitifulness of my posts!  I fell asleep and missed Jason’s first dance, but I caught the rest.

Jason – As I said, missed the Quickstep, but caught the Paso.  It was really good, but I kept wondering if Edyta got hurt getting slammed into the ground!  Emmit Smith was looking on and smiling, cute!  They got a 9, 9, 9 on that one for a grand total of 55/60 (3rd place)

Marissa – First was the Quickstep.  It was good but boring.  Score: 9, 10, 9 (obviously the judges and I disagreed, but maybe I was still half-asleep).  Second was the Rhumba.  Yeah, it was cute and sexy, but not fab.  I think it’s time for her to go home.  Score for the Rhumba: 8, 9, 9.  Grand total = 53/60 (4th Place)

Christian – First dance was the Vianese Waltz to DMB’s “Satellite.”  Cheryl’s dress is WEIRD.  If I can find a pic, I will post later.  She literally looked like a Satellite, not sure that’s the point of the song!  The dance was very very pretty though!  Scores: 9, 9, 9.  Next, the Samba, the same dance where Christian injured his arm.  It was ok.  Not really the fun Samba, but ok.  Score: 10, 9, 10 and i feel like the judges are just being kind because of the arm.  Grand total = 56/60 (Second place)

Kristi – First up, Tango.  WOW, this is much better than the last time she did this one!  Lots of passion and really good steps.  Score: 10, 9, 10.  Next, the Jive, which they got a 30 on last time.  This one is cute, different than the last.  Mark is really bad at throwing a LOT of choreography at her and its sometimes too much.  That’s the case with that Jive.  Really good, but it looks like she is BARELY keeping up.  Score: 9, 9, 10.  Grand Total for First Place = 57/60

The Hills – The Finale

May 12, 2008

Season Finale Again…

We start with Audrina looking at apartments, eww its like in downtown tho.  HAHAH Spencer is still at Heidi’s apartment and apparently he slept there last night.  Stephanie comes to Heidi’s apartment and tells Spencer that Heidi is in Vegas and she might not come back..  Take it from a girl who lived in Vegas, it sucks.  I guess Heidi will be helping reinvent the pool and bar at some casino.

Oh wow Whitney is back on the show? Whitney is right about everything and she says that Audrina probably feels left out with LC living with LO.  HAHAH Spencer and Stefanie are driving on the strip in Vegas. AHHAHAH Spencer goes into the Palazzo to go confront Heidi.  Wow he just walked in on what looks like an important meeting. I’m confused as to why she got such a great job.  Spencer wants Heidi to come back to LA with him, she was pissed and now she seems OK.  Brent tells Heidi she needs to get that under control.  Yikes!

At the ALL house it looks like LO and LC are making dinner.  Oh it’s Dinner for all three of them, and Audrina is late.  Lo thinks she is not welcomed at the back of the house.  Audrina totally walks out on the girls dinner and like doesn’t say anything.  Weirrrd

In Vegas it looks like Heidi is missing her plane ride back.  Ohh and thats because she is with Spencer and Stephanie.  in the ALL house Lauren feels uncomfortable about Audrina, and that they need to talk about it.  Lo is questioning the friendship that her and Audrina will have.  Whatever. LO stop causing drama!! Audrina feels weird going upstairs to hang out and LC feels like they are growing apart and shes bummed.  Audrina thinks that she is being ignored when she’s with LO.  Audrina says since Lo is in the picture shes distanced  herself.  LC basically wants them to be as close as they were, and Audrina feels like LO is pushing them apart.  LC cries.  sappy music plays and we end with no resolution.  What in God’s name is LC wearing?

I hink its funny how they always find a parking spot right in front of their apartment.  Looks like Heidi and Spencer made up pretty quickly and they are now living togethere again.  DUH.

The end — next time we see them, Season 4 of The Hills

Matt Nathanson – Oh Elon

May 12, 2008

So its no secret that LB and I went to school together, well our lovely little school Elon University, had a concert by Matt Nathanson apparently and he wrote an impromptu song about our school and some random posted it online. Oh You Tube.

Gossip Girl – The Non-Judging Breakfast Club

May 12, 2008

So another good episode of Gossip Girl.  The brief highlights include — we find out Serena has a crazy night, after she told Blair she killed someone.  Turns out she didn’t really kill anyone, she just didn’t stay with someone while they were dying.  After the big you are a whore wedding of last year, S went to hang out with G and G was planning on video taping a sex romp with some random cokehead and S.  S didn’t fall for it and she kinda regected the guy — so he did some more coke, and started to foam at the mouth.  Serena calls 911 and then leaves with G who is convinced they will get in trouble if they are there.  S tells the whole story to the motley crue which includes Blair, Nate, and Chuck…actually quite a great little crew there.

Meanwhile Nate and Vanessa plan a “date” whereas my roommate and I slightly throwup in our mouths. Eww Vanessa go away!  Rufus is going to do another ‘I was famous in the 90’s concert’ this one with Lisa Loeb (read the opening credits ladies!) and meh whatever.  Turns out there is a reason he is no longer famous, his music sucks.  Stick to something else Rufus.  Oh yeah and he totally makes out with Serena’s mom.  On the same night as her rehersal true story!

Serena apologizes to the parents of the guy who dies (after her mom finds the videotape that G left behind) and she feels better about herself and goes to talk to Dan.  The best moment of the entire show is when Blair pulls out every single sex appeal look you could possibly put together in a few seconds and “suduces” Chuck into going to find Georgina (who we all now know is Sarah) and Chuck gives an amazing look back “lets go get the Bitch”.  It was so amazing, the roommate and I rewound and played again.  Fabulous.

Sarah/Georgina works her magic ways and steals Dan away before the crew can get to her annnd they totally make out on the steps of some …place? I dunno.  Ut Oh.  Bad girl!!

Next week is the season finale!!

Survivor Finale – The Black Widow Brigade

May 11, 2008

Well this should probably be my longest post ever since we have a THREE hour finale, on what has unquestionably been the best season in many many years of Survivor. For the first time ever we have an all women final four! Should make for an exciting night!! I’ll say it again for the umpteenth time, Cirie for the win!!! (Let’s see if I can call the winner twice in a row!)

The girls awake and that they pulled off another blindside. These girls have all played a great game. Cirie says shes nervous around everyone. Everyone is so glad that its just the ladies left. Natalie thinks that her and Parvati are like BFF. Amanda and Cirie take notice. Cirie is convinced that this is another immunity and that they have to beat Natalie. Ohh man looks like its a two part challenge here. This is interesting — its not an endurance challenge like it normally is for the last immunity challenge. Do we get my biggest wish where we go back to the final two and not the final three like the past few season!?!? Natalie get an early lead. Amanda seems to be taking a lead. Amanda wins immunity!!! Yeaahhh!!! Read the rest of this entry »
