American Idol – Neil Diamond week

Well I think this will be a weird week, because I don’t really know these songs at all.

Jason Castro “Forever In Blue Jeans” and “September Morn”
FIBJ:  Good to see him with a guitar again.  Is this like a country song?  He sounds much better and more confident in the second verse.  What a lame song to sing.  It sounds like hes saying A River in Blue Jeans..Lame.

SM:He sounds good.  I really don’t think he thought he would get this far on the show at all.  Ew but the end of it got away from him a little bit.

Randy thought it was OK.  Paula thinks he took the same liberty with both songs.  Simon thought he struggled and it was forgetable.  Agreed.

David Cook – “I’m Alive” and “All I Really Need Is You.”
IA: I am really glad hes got the guitar back.  He is rocking out a song that talks about a baby being born.  Umm there wasn’t much to that song was there?  He sang it pretty well I guess.

AIRNIY:  Ohh acoustic guitar! He needs to shave.  Wow I really like this.  I don’t know the song at all but it sounds like its supposed to be on the end of some big movie credits.  I think that he needs to stop closing his eyes and squinting his face when he belts.  I like the end of it a lot.  I will be probably only downloading that song from the whole show.  Nice!!

Randy thought he rocked the house and it was blazing.  Paula is proud and said she thinks she is already looking at the American Idol.  Simon thought it was brilliant.

Brooke White – “I’m A Believer” and “I Am I Said.”
IAB: Wow what a super weird song for her to sing.  And yet I am not surprised.  She looks awful in that outfit.  You can’t even tell shes playing the guitar — so why even have it there?  Paula is dancing.  Well she tried to rock.  At least she remembered the words!

IAIS: Well this is a much better song for her.  She sounds very good.  Nice.

Randy said it was vulnerable and she did a nice job.  Paula thought she connected with the audience and it worked.  Simon reiterated that he hated the first song but this is the Brooke we like.  It wasn’t incredible but it was a million times better then the first song!

David Archuleta sang “Sweet Caroline” and “America.”
SC: Love this song!  I feel like someone over 21 should have sang it with a beer tho.  Wow this is like a Broadway version of SC.  Or like one I would see in a Disney movie.  SO GOOD SO GOOD SO GOOD.  Really is no one gonna sing that?  He just ran all over that song.  How many times could he add another extra oh or ah.  He sang well, he looks good too.

A: *surprising he is singing the only two ND songs I know*  Oh my we have a waving flag in the background.  Ohh he totally squealed on that one note.  Is this the Kristy Lee curse?  Well I guess it wasn’t a curse for her.  They shouldn’t be able to sing patriotic songs lol.  He sounded good, end was good.  Cheesy as always.

Randy thought he was in the zone.  Paula thought it was perfect for him to sing.  Simon thought it was a smart choice in song.
Syesha Mercado sang “Hello Again” and “Thank The Lord For The Night Time.”
HA: Oh my god the hands in front of her face are obnoxious.  She is in good voice tonight, she sounds really nice.  Not forced at all.

TTLFTNT: Oh I think she was a little sharp in the beginning.  She’s having a lot of fun and taking a note from ALW and using the stage to her advantage.  Yeah she sounds good.  Its a good week for Syesha for sure.  Doesn’t mean she won’t go home tho lol

Randy thought it was in the zone.  Paula said too much to type but she loves her.  Simon thought it was officially the strangest show we’ve ever done.  Simon thinks it shows shes a good actress but she may be in trouble. 

Neil Diamond is totally lame he gave nothing compared to Mariah, Dolly, or Andrew!

Meh to this show.

Dancing with the Stars – Results

The dance to see again – Jason and Edyta’s Quickstep.  I haven’t seen this yet so yay!  Too cute; how such a giant man moves that well astounds me!

Ooooh the judges make an announcement: the couples can do ONE lift next week, as long as it is in character with the dance they are doing.  Hahaha cant beat them? Join ‘em!

Dancing with the Stars – 2 Dances/1 Night!

So I watched most of the ballroom round at the gym and about half of the latin round at home, so this might not be the best recap.  I’ll add more later when I watch from Tivo.

Tango:  Eh, I always thought there was a lot more anger in the Tango, not quite a Paso, but close.  This was kinda stale.
Rumba:

Christian and Cheryl
Viennese Waltz:  Very pretty, the judges are right – he has finally come into his own with this show and his ballroom skills are really improving
Samba:  I don’t know what dance it was but I did tune in to find out that Christian hurt his arm during some kind of catch with Cheryl.  For more information, check out this article with Cheryl.

Kristi and Mark
Viennese Waltz:  I LIKED the umbrella!! and I thought the whole thing was great.  Ok, she got a little out of control on some spins, but that spin to a drop thing was awesome!!  I thought it was cute and they told a great story.
Cha Cha:

Foxtrot:  I thought he did rather well!  The judges are so harsh on him and it really annoys me.  He hated doing the foxtrot, totally not his style, but I thought he did well with it!
Mambo:  Too cute!!! I was expecting much higher scores!!!  He did it so well, it was so natural!!!

Shannon and Derek
Tango:  Hahah ok the package before the dance was priceless.  He is trying to get her angry and passionate about the dance and she tells him he wont be happy about doing that when he goes home alone!!! HEHE!!  their tango was also kind of stale.  Why must this be boring?  Makes me miss Maks (WHO WILL BE BACK ON THE RESULTS SHOW!!!)
Mambo:  It should have been cute.  I really wanted it to be cute.  But it was stiff.  And awkward.  And not so good.  Sorry, guys!

Paso Doble:  HAHAHA the Monday Night Football Theme!!!  Jason kind of reminded me of Mario (as in Mario and Luigi and the Princess – mine and the BF’s Halloween costumes this last year!), it was a weird costume.  And Edyta looked like a Miami Dolphin’s cheerleader . . . who is about to become a slave to Jabba the Hut.  Reminded me a lot of the Star Wars themed costume from a few seasons ago with Joey Fatone.  Either way, it was a pretty good Paso.

The Hills – Maybe he’ll wear his cowboy hat!

Oh we begin with the house that LC and Lo and Audrina moved into. Oh Audrinas living in a guest house. They have to have “the best housewarming party”. They need to put LO in the credits!! Shes in the show more then Whitney. Aww new Gavin DeGraw song! HAHAH Lo and LC have a talk about Stephen “that melts my little black heart”. LC said she never really stopped liking Stephen thru high school and afterwards.

Spencer and Stephanie meet for coffee and apparently Spencer has the flu. Stephanie is going to the LC House warming party. Stephanie said that its not fair that he became BFF with her ex boyfriend. HA he leaves. I love this song “Mercy” by Duffy. I need to download it. HAHAAH Justin is invited to the party and Lo goes “Maybe he’ll wear his cowboy hat”. Audrina looks pissed. Lo pushes the Stephen question and she said “we are just good friends”. RIGHT.

Nice we have some Danity Kane “Damaged”. Brody is there for the party! he brings Cora the new girlfriend. She’s pretty. Stephanie tells Heidi she’s going to LCs party. Why does she even need to tell them? Heidi is right, she obviously feels bad about it or she wouldn’t have asked permission. She brings up loyalty again. Wow and now we have some “Bleeding Love” by Leona Lewis — why are they playing all songs I know tonight? STEPHEN!!!!! Stephens hair is so long. WOAH JUSTIN BOBBY WITH UGLY SHORT HAIR and a Jean Vest Jacket. Audrina is basically saying that LO is a bitch for calling out about JB. Yikes. AHHHH LC AND STEPHEN ARE SO CUTE. Awkward smiles and everything. Are we watching Laguna Beach again? I think so.

Oh so I guess Stephanie didn’t end up coming to the house warming party. Sounds like LC might be interested in starting something up with Stephen. Oh now we have some Daughtry playing. Still surreal to me. LC and Stephen have dinner and they discuss her roommates. Aww Stephen told his mom that they are hanging out and he doesn’t understand why they can’t just be platonic. Both of their parents love each other. COME ON. AWWW COLBIE CAILAIT DREAMS COLLIDE!! This isn’t even on her album. No kiss goodnight. Aww Lo is so funny. “did you guys talk about you two?”. Lc says that hanging out with him feels like they are in high school. WTF now we have Colbie singing Realize!!!! Lo said “maybe one day it’ll work out and you’ll get married. because that’s what I want.” Aww us too Lo, us too!

Next week they get a dog and Audrina is thinking of moving in with JB!?!?! WHAT

Gossip Girl – And he likes animals!

So I didn’t live blog GG tonight, because I watched it a bit later.  But I will give a quick recap.
It’s the big SAT episode.  I guess Josh Schwartz can’t make these guys go thru junior year twice like in The OC, now that they’ve made a whole episode about it.  Then again…who knows?  While everyone is stressing a blast from S’s past comes back.  G aka Georgina is back and she pretty much ruins Serena’s life for the next two days.  She even drugs her and makes her miss the SATs.  Meanwhile Jenny is looking for a new suitor and he likes dogs and hot dogs.  Dogs of all forms.  Edible and Pet variety.  Jenny is still a biatch.  Blair sabotages some Asian girls SAT scores.  Finally Nate and Vanessa awkwardly make out on the steps and Blair and Dan catch them being friendly.  Nice.  Oh yeah and Georgina introduces herself as Sarah to Dan.  Next week looks good!

Grey’s Anatomy – Lion Fight

Yay for Grey’s being back!!! This episode starts 5 weeks after our last one.  Meredith is in therapy, but she’s not saying anything.  She just comes and sits and then leaves.  Helpful.  Derek is dating nurse Rose – I can’t help but like her!  Lexi and George found an apartment together – the Crapartment!  It’s really gross – George kills like 5 cockroaches in a few minutes.  Big ones.  They look like the palmetto bugs that i have down here – GROSS!!!  Lexi is determined to be cheery about the apartment.  The residents are in a competition – not sure what they win yet, but the points are made up by what they do – 1 point per stitch, 3 for watching a surgery, 80 points for solving a medical mystery – “the holy grail” of the competition.  This, of course, turns them into psychos.

Lost – A Game of Risk

Sooo excited for lost to be back. As always I’ll be live blogging so I apologize for my ramblings.

We start with Kate..tanning? Ohh shes making eyes at Jack ut oh. Jack is taking some antibiotics for his “stomach bug” hmm. Kate wants to know why they aren’t back from the boat yet. Annd then a man washes onto shore. He’s the doctor from the boat and his neck was slit.

On Locke Land hahaha Hurley, Sawyer, and Locke are playing Risk — I used to love that game. In the meantime ____ is being forced to turn the force field fence off, by guys with guns. Locke’s phone rings and it tells them that the code has been changed. Ben is playing the piano when Locke comes in and asks what Code 14J is — Ben freaks out gets a gun and says we need to get in the other house — because “They are here” AHH

The Office – Stay Real Scranton

Hhahah great new episode of The office.

We begin with Michael getting some gum in his hair…followed by Dwight massaging PB into his head….you know to get the gum out.  HA.

Ryan comes into town and he’s kinda acting a bit crazy, hes making everyone come in on Saturday to work with the website.  Apparently they added a social network to the site that was filled with porn hahahah.  Best moment — Kelly Kapur ” How Dare You”.  Slow clap initiated by Michael was amazing.  On the way out — “Stay Real Scranton” What happened to you Ryan??

Michael is still dealing with his singleness and he needs help from Jim.  hahahh moment “Would you have sex with Meredith?:  Do you think she would tell people?:”  Michael decides to go visit to  NYC and he brings Dwight so that they can meet up with Ryan and go clubbing. Ryan is DRUNK and maybe high and he is SOOO excited to see them in NYC.  He also has a midget friend, which Dwight will continually ask him questions about his hobbit like figure.

Jim has the great idea that they should just stay late and then they don’t have to come in on Saturday, except that no one told the guards and so they locked themselves inside of the parking lot.  Nice.  Love they way they are hiding Angela’s belly hahahhah holding her purse.  Andy asks everyone who is a better couple, Angela and Andy or Pam and Jim and everyone votes for AA hahahhahahahaah. They continue to try and entertain themselves and I have another laugh out loud moment when Pam throws a football….right into Meredith’s head HAHAHHA.

Ryan is on drugs for sure and they go to another club where Dwight meets a womens basketball team where he proceeds to totally makeout with a hot chick! Gooo Dwight!! Michael makes sure that everyone knows by taking a photo and sending it to everyone.  Back in Scranton the crew is still waiting for Hank, the security gaurd, to come let them out — when the cleaning crew comes and lets them out.. Nice.

The boys end up back at Ryans bad where Michael claims it was “The Best Night Ever!”  He also says that people say they like Boys on the Side well I think Lets hear it for the Boys.

Desperate Housewives – A man is only as sick as his secrets.

2 srecaps in one!!

In the premier post-strike episode: Gabby and Carlos get married, but she finds out he is blind (Thanks, Edie!) AFTER they get married. She screws with him a bit for not telling, then they decide they can and will be happy anyway. The Catherine thing is confusing: Dylan thinks that her mom killed her dad, no one actually talks about it, and Adam gives her a non answer. When Catherine feels like crying, she goes in the woods and cries next to a cross in the ground. Through provoking. Bree and Lynette go back and forth on church. Bree wants Lynette to be well behaved and of course Lynette questions the preacher during the sermon. They fight later, and Lynette explains that she had a hard year with the cancer and the tornado and is looking for answers, and that Bree is her most religious friend. Susan catches her nephew (otherwise know as Luke from the OC) in bed with Catherine! Whoops!! He tells her that Catherine took his virginity and then told him she couldn’t see him anymore. When he tried, he saw her hit who he thought was her husband with a candlestick. Also thought provoking!

American Idol: Andrew Llyod Webber Week

ok so Broadway Week is typically awful, because they never know what to sing and apparently the vocal coaches don’t help much.  But this time they are limited to singing just ALW music — which could prove difficult.  Oh wow they flew them to Vegas to the Phantom’s theatre in Vegas at the Venetian.  ALW is about words words words? I thought that was Sondheim…hahah

Syesha Mercado – “One Rock N’ Roll Too Many.”
(Um… Starlight Express?) She started off off beat. This is an ALW song? Its so not like him…She looks great.  I think this is a good song choice for her — I want to know where the hell she heard this song.  Well that was a pretty good performance for her.  I think she was a little flat on some of her notes but in general good Job lady.  Randy thinks she could be a huge Broadway star and it was her best performance.  Paula thought she was really good at it and she brought the house down.  Simon thought it was sexy and one of her strongest so far.

Jason Castro – “Memory.”
(OH MY GOD why would ANYONE pick this song, I thought maybe Brooke would sing this really lamely, but I can’t believe Jason picked it — he probably asked his mom what to sing and this is the only song she knew.) “I never thougth I’d see a man with Dreadlocks singing Memory” HAHAH I DIDN”T KNOW A CAT WAS SINGING IT HAHAHHAHAHAHA.  I’m really nervous this is really a popular song OMG HAHHAHAHAHAH his interview was AMAZING. Well the bridge sounds just awful.  He is speaking it it’s waaaay too low for him.  Wow that was perhaps his worst performance ever.  Someone should have helped him pick a different song.  Randy thought it was a train wreck.  Paula doesn’t know that it was Betty Buckley who first sang the Broadway version of the song, so instead she calls her a “Power Female Balleteer” hahahah.  Simon thought it was the longest two minutes of his life.

Booke White – “You Must Love Me.”
(What is with these awful choices … is no one gonna sing Joseph? Or JCS? Brooke should have sang Everything’s Alright from JCS she would have sounded great with that song) Wow ALW said Brooke didn’t know at ALL what the song was about.  Woah Brooke asked to start over again.  I don’t think we’ve ever seen that on the show!!  Wow this is pretty awful by far her worst performance.  She sounds like she is loosing her voice or something.  It’s just not a good song for her.  Randy thought it was tough.  Paula is a loss for words and that she should never start and stop.  She liked that she didn’t overact.  Simon thought it was uncomfortable and she will be disappointed when she watches it back.  Brooke looks like she is gonna cry bc she lost the lyric and that’s why she started again.  Simon said he would have done the same thing.

David Archuleta  – “Think Of Me.”
(Um why is he singing this female song..) Its a bit uptempo which is weird.  Wow this is so different and I kinda like it — which I hate to admit.  Ohh he totally messed up the words again.  This big end doesn’t even sound like the song at all.  I can’t decide if I like that he changed it up.  I do like the arrangement but I dunno it’s weird because Broadway is hard to mess with.  Hmm.  He sang it well tho.  Randy thinks he can sing anything and it was the bomb and that he is the boy to beat.  Paula thought it was perfect.  Simon thought it was pleasant but one of his weakest performances. 

Carly Smithson – “Jesus Christ Superstar.”
(GREAT song for her!!!) Hey Carly found sleeves again!  Oh wow she wanted to sing All I ask of you — SOOO Glad that ALW said to sing the other song.  She sounds softer, I wanted her to sound deep and throaty, ya know?  WOW she was amazing there at the end.  Fantastic.  Loved it, so glad that she sang this song!!! Randy thought it was good and he likes the outfit.  (she does look awesome)  Paula loved what she did with the chorus.  Simon thought actually one of his favorite performances of the night (well there’s only 6….?)

David Cook sang “Music Of The Night.”
(Oh jesus…I really wanted him to rock out a Judas song from JSC but we all know hes a MT kid so maybe he will go crazy and sing the shit out of this song)  Ohh I love that he is just SINGING the song, not changing it, but like singing singing it.  Like he shuold be on BWAY. Sigh I have chills already.   OH MY GOD.  He hit the HELL out of that song, and he didn’t belt it or anything that was amazing.  I am so glad he isnt screaming this song he is just singing it and its sounds beautiful.  Oh but the end he just ROCKED it AHHHHH.  That was amazing. WOW WOW WOW.  Chills baby.  Randy thought it was an amazing vocal performance.  Paula thinks he is so well rounded and he was fantastic.  Simon much prefers him gritty and rocker but he made the most of the performance.

The Tudors Returns

Showtime announced today that they are picking up The Tudors for a third season. Yeahh! although we don’t really blog about the show here — we both love it and are so excited it’ll be back. (Honestly tho, did they really think they would start this show and not finish out the infamous story?). Season three will take us thru his marriage to Jane Seymour and Anne of Cleves and will bow sometime in 2009.

Ugh, the Group Dance again. Jason Taylor fugs it up bad! Ashlee Simpson sings, or attempts to. Not so good. But she looks good as a red head!! I hate when they use random pros to dance, i like seeing the ones we know!! Maks is back next week!!!! Also, next week is the 100th episode. Wow Shannon is a basket case!! Hahah they look more like a couple than ever! 

One Tree Hill – Something Better

Lindsey is the first thing Luke thinks of every day.  Luke is the first thing Peyton thinks of.  haha Chester the bunny is the first thing Jamie thinks of, cute!  HA! Brooke thinks of herself first thing; Skillz has no idea what day or time it is.  Mouth thinks of Millicent, work, remembers he was fired/left his job and freaks out.  Way to go morning panic attack.  Hayley and Nathan just slept together!!!  Aww they both think of Jamie.  Then Nathan thinks about how hot Hayley is.  Jamie is in their bed, they are both starving (usually happens when you have sex all night!) and they play with Jamie.  Dan hears a gunshot upon awakening and thinks of Keith.  Yow.

Shannon and Derek – Romance?

So, yeah, they were caught kissing.  Are they really involved?  Most people seem to think so.  Check out this article with its many links to all things Shannon and Derek related.  Interesting fact:  Shannon is supposedly dating a math teacher.  I’m guessing he does not do the rumba.
